WOW!! So these people carry their cameras with them all the time then. I thought like in some animal movies in Hollywood these cats are highly trained to respond to human signals.
My guess is that many people just happen to take pictures of their pet cats doing 'cute' things, and someone is clever enough to round up these pictures and write the witty captions for them CW. :) :) :)
When I was little there were always like thirty kittens around the barns. I would waste a whole afternoon watching their antics. It wouldn't be hard to snap some good pics of some amazing acrobatics.

I know about matching the pictures with witty captions isn't an easy task..hehe. I once went to an art gallery and the captions of the modern art weren't matching with any of my thoughts then I thought maybe I am not witty enough to understand such things but now I have met a really witty person.
LOL, thanks CW, but I didn't write these captions, although I totally 'get' them. I also hate modern art for what it is worth, completely lacking in any genuine talent for the most part. I saw a programme last night where some so called famous artist got over a million pounds for the contents of his ashtray by selling it as art!!!! People who pay for this rubbish must be mad!
Hi TMG, yes, my cats manage to do all sorts of cute things, and have done ever since they were kittens. The trick is having the camera handy when they do these cute antics.
e.g. I woke up the other morning and found my large black and white cat Ronnie, asleep on our bed with his front paws each side of my neck and his face resting on my cheek. It would have made a lovely picture, but how on earth could I get the shot without moving the cat! Even if I woke my Hubby up to get the camera, by the time he got out of bed and found the camera etc etc, the cat would surely have moved.
Then how do you get these pictures/captions or maybe you can send me an email about your secret source..hehe
I guess some people get write ups done by art critics/writers to get popular and once one is famous then many people buy the "brand" name rather than the actual painting intrinsic value. But million pounds for such kind of painting is something even I can't understood.
Welcome back CW, firstly, these pictures are emailed to me by friends normally, and they already have captions on them that make me laugh. I believe there is a whole website devoted to these images somewhere on the net.
The Ashtray art I was telling you about was not a painting, but an actual ashtray of cigarette ends, which is even worse as far as I am concerned. How could anyone pay over one million pounds (or any money at all for that matter), just to own the contents of some pretty awful artist's ashtray. The same artist managed to sell a pickled Zebra, and various other pickled animals as so called "art" for six figure sums of money!!!!
The artist's name is Damien Hirst CW, and to give examples of some of the stuff he has sold in 2008 here goes:
* $300,000 -a bull's heart mounted with a dagger and ripped-off dove's wings in formaldehyde.
* $600,000 -collage of butterfly carcasses
* $30,000 each - mounted single butterfly named for an astrological sign
* $3.5 million - fish skeletons in formaldehyde tank
* $4 million - pickled bull sharks in formaldehyde
* $1.8 million - butts from ashtrays mounted on 4 ft. x 6 ft. panel.
* $6 million - big tiger shark in formaldehyde
* $23 million - calf with gold-plated hooves in formaldehyde
He's is also selling his scraps as art - a clear tank loaded with empty formaldehyde barrels, surgical masks, rubber gloves and breathing filter hoses, could go for $250,000.

Sounds like a great plan to make easy money, but the problem is the nutters who spend such crazy amounts of money on such rubbish, only seem to spend it on famous artists as opposed to the likes of you and me, so unfair!!!

Violet, yes it is ludicrous that anyone would pay for such absolute tat and rubbish. Do you remember the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes", where they were apparently invisible to anyone who was not highly intelligent. This tricked the Emperor into having to pretend he could see them to the tailor, and he paraded through the streets naked, thinking he was wearing these incredible clothes rather than admit to 'being stupid'. Ironically the fact he accepted the existence of the clothes was what made him stupid in the first place.
CW, if I knew how to become famous I no doubt would be by now, but I reckon it involves being in the right place at the right time and meeting the right people. Either that, or have a unique talent that will get the attention to warrant you being noticed by a promoter etc. There is also the "Casting Couch" option, which is very unsavoury, but many famous actresses have got to the top of their careers by agreeing to sleep with the right people to secure the best parts in films etc.

I love kitties! Mine is right now, curled up in her little wrot-iron bed with soft pillow! Yep, she's a BIT spoiled. They are special creatures yet pretty easy to read. For instance:
When the kitty backs up and sprays your daughter's coat when she arrives for a visit; the cat really doesn't like your daughter!
When the cat "has a special little accident" and leaves a precious little pile outside of your house-guest's bedroom door; she doesn't really like the house-guests.
And, when the cat sits in the corner and glares at you as you rock your new baby grandchild; you aren't imagining it; she really hates the kid, the fact that he's in the cat's house and that the kid is getting all of the attention.
I have a friend in LA who's cat is on Prozac...I have one here who should be!

WOW!! Great pictures and wonderful captions. Where do you get these pictures. It would be extremely difficult to make these cats do all those things. Absolutely hilarious.
